In this exclusive master yoga class, Sri Dharma will guide students through many of the essential practices of the Dharma Yoga method – including Asana, Pranayama, and guided meditation in Shavasana. The Dharma Yoga Method is the traditional yoga that Sri Dharma Mittra received from his guru and his guru’s close disciples, through the lens of Sri Dharma’s years of constant study and dedicated practice, adapted for the person of today.
Since 1967, Sri Dharma Mittra has been teaching classical yoga: advanced postures, Yama and Niyama, and how to lead a content, simple and happy life. A legendary yoga master who has dedicated his life to yoga over a half-century through his school in New York and across the world, Sri Dharma Mittra has been practicing and teaching for almost sixty years.
For many years, Sri Dharma was the only yoga teacher in New York City teaching advanced yoga postures. Teachers from other schools and ashrams have always come to him to learn, practice, and then teach elsewhere.
He is the founder of one of the early independent schools of yoga in New York City, the creator of the Master Yoga Chart of 908 Postures, the author of several books and DVDs, and the inspiration for countless yoga teachers and practitioners internationally.
